Trying to dismantle a shower screen

I want to remove the fixed glass panel from this shower cubicle screen. The reason being to clean the unsightly mould between the glass and metal frame behind it. Whoever fitted it didn't think to seal between the glass and frame, so soapy water gets in and sits and goes mouldy. I thought by removing the top and bottom retaining screws, the glass would just pop out of the frame but it's not budging. Any helpful advice will be most gratefully appreciated.

I get the impression those things aren't supposed to be taken apart like that - have you considered a door instead, or is there not enough room?

It has been siliconed down the length of where it slots into the frame, you can see it in the top shot
Will be near on impossible to remove

Regarding the seal at the bottom, you arent meant to silicone on the inside, but from outside only, so its not correct to say the original installer did it wrong - its a bad design to have that section where water can sit and mould can grow
I would look for a trim of some kind in chrome that can be siliconed in place on the outside to hide the mess - even a door threshold or something

Did you already remove some form of decorative trim from the camera side, at the bottom?

Sliding doors normally lift out, what’s preventing that? (Lower runner/wheels may be spring loaded .)

No. It's always been like that. Just the fixed glass panel sitting in the frame, with the frame behind it at the bottom. There's no sealant between the bottom edge of the frame and glass on the inside so soapy water gets in. It was like that when I moved in a year ago. Only just got to the top of the jobs list. I'll probably try wedding a thin cloth in the gap and see if I can clean out the mess.

I can get the sliding door out but I don't see how that will help me clean the mouldy mess between the fixed panel and bottom frame.

Jetwash

I'd also test what effect bleach has on the trim, in an inconspicuous area, and if it doesn't discolour/damage it, dribble some in. Mold bleaches to invisible quite well

Personally, i wouldn't bother trying to clean that metal since it looks beyond solvents. Your call.
