Hi all,

got a Hotpoint First Edition tumble dryer, about 4 years old. It's fine, ( I had to replace a broken belt 2 years ago ) except for the 1st 5 minutes that you run it. There's a high-pitched squeaking noise which is constant, but then stops.

Is this a drum bearing on it's way ? I thought the noise would be constant, not stop after about 5-10 mins.

Cheers,

Pete

two places it can squeak from first at the back of mc is a small cup 2 screws at the side ,remove them and underneath is a copper strip regease it and test if it still squeaks side panel off on left and grease jockey wheels

The nylon bearers on the front of the drum can squeak until the machine warms up, may need replacing if worn.
