Whenever I have the hot water on the radiators also heat up, and when the heating is on the tank also heats up.
I don't mind the hot water but I don't want the heating on much this time of year.
I'm assuming it is the Lifestyle 679H340-30L0 mid position valve.
My system is about 18 years old, with a Baxi Solo2 downstairs with hot water tank in the airing cupboard.
I am getting a new boiler in about 5 weeks so don't want to spend any money replacing the valve.
The weather is warm enough now that I don't want the heating on, so is there a way to manually set the valve to just the hot water?
There is a gate valve on the heating pipe coming from the valve, could I just turn that of so just the flow goes into the tank?
If I did need the heating on I could just reverse what I have done (I don't mind getting hot water when the heating is on). I am aware that I would have to make sure I reversed what I had done before I turned the heating on.
