I would like to knock down a wall underneath window in a small victorian semi in order to turn it into a doorway to the sidereturn.

It has a brick arch above the window, so am i right in assuming that it doesn't need any sort of new lintel?

excuse me if this is a dumb question but i'm having a wee attack of nerves before boshery.

any useful thoughts appreciated, :)

If your keeping it the same width there will be no problem.

thanks for speedy replies guys.

yeah, same width - thanks bodgeit.

noseall : 700 mill wall, lowest point of arch 2380 above ground(ooh i've gone metric all of a sudden, must be the booze) 2400 centre point. However, this is render. The "arch" is level at it's base. straight viccy brickwork.....

can't be the glass holding it up eh?
