Hiya,

I have been using a Bosch SDS drill with hammer action to break up some concrete over the last couple of days. Yesterday an irate neighbour came over to say every time we're using it, it affect his TV reception (freeview).

This is the same neighbour who moaned about the same thing when we had scaffolding up a few years ago. Now I can understand the scaffolding but power tools?

Is he on to something, as I've never heard of such a thing, but i'm no tool expert!

Thanks

It's true but should be to a very small degree, i.e some thin lines waving across his screen but not to the extent that it would make it unwatchable.

He may just be lying and really it's the noise that affects him but best not **** him off too badly if your staying there. Maybe offer a compromise of some times it'll be done?? Or tell him to f'off.

Oh i'm all finished now, but it just sounded like a weird suggestion.

He did say something about suppressing it, but I had a look on the Bosch website and the drill in question has a suppression kit built in. Well it looked like it from the diagram I found anyway.

It may be that the suppressor in the drill/breaker is faulty, the tool may be working fine with a broken suppressor. Did you check your TV's to see if they were receiving any interference?
Regards
Otto
