Evening.
Not much info to go on at present but my neighbour has asked me to look at there oven.
This oven is two separate pieces and mounted vertically in units.
Top oven works fine but bottom oven will not switch on.

Any advice where I should start to look. Rather ask now before I go there in the morning.

Check the oven light works, if there’s one fitted.....maybe there’s a fan too.
Often the description of the fault by the owners is a mile from the actual fact!
Check the element resistance, if alls well there I’d trace it back to the main oven switch. There could be overheat sensors built into the oven side which can go open circuit.
John :)

Electric or gas? Is there a timer set to auto instead of manual?

The oven is electric.
I have just called her and asked the question about light fan etc.

There is a light & fan for this oven BUT neither also work when switched on.
It would of been nice for them to work & it would of then been the element etc

Now niether of these work it might be over my head now

This oven is two separate pieces and mounted vertically in units.
If 2 completely separate units then they may be supplied from seperate fuses on the CU, mine are on separate circuits - so the fuse may have tripped for that oven

If it helps there is only 1 cooker on / off switch at the side of the oven.
I would assume then this 1 switch must cover both top / bottom.
