Hi, I want install two 150w halogen pir lights, one at the front of the house, one at the back.

I intend to fit two 5amp junction box's in convenient locations in the loft. I will use these to break into the lighting feed between ceiling roses. I will also fit fused switch spur's, between jb's and lights so the lights can be switched off and the pir's override feature can be used. I will fit 2amp fuses in the switched spurs.

Does this all sound ok, the only problem i could see is if both lights were on together, totalling 300w, and other lights in the house on, exceeding the load for the mcb ond tripping it, but thought this unlikely. Is it acceptable to add outside lights to the lighting circuit ?

thanks for any advice.

no need for the jbs if you have fcu's

its quite common to add fcus to the main ring

and i hate incorrectly positioned flood lights
