Hi. What a great forum you have here! I'm happy to have found it.

My wonderful boyfriend performed his first tile job in my kitchen last weekend. He was feeling inspired to grout at 2am and left a few spacers in the glass mosaic tile. I noticed it the next day when I was checking out his work. What is a good way to remove these without breaking the glass? We used 1/12" spacers.

Also, we are thinking about tiling a gas fireplace/firebox front with glass tile. It currently is covered in black granite. Can we tile over that? We thought about removing it, but saw that we were in for some major problems if we started ripping it down (loss of whatever is back there).

Thanks in advance. Cheers!

You could grout over them if they are sufficiently recessed into the gaps.

Best practice though is to use them perpendicular to the plane that most people do, such that they are sticking out, then even once the adhesive has set they're easy to pull out.
