Hi There,
I would like to install downlights instead of a single ceiling rose light, and also add a dimmer to the circuit in addition to the current single switch.
I imagine that I will have to change the single light switch to a two way switch, and run the the three core and earth wire between the switch and dimmer. My stumbling block is when I get to the current wires, at the moment theres a twin and earth coming from an inaccessible junction box to the ceiling rose, and another twin and earth coming from the same junction box to the switch.
Will it be ok just to change the switch to a two way switch with the existing cable, and then using a junction box take the existing cable to the ceiling rose and extend around the downlights as required? And then obviously taking the three core plus earth between the two way switch and the new dimmer.
Hope this makes sense,
Cheers.
