I need to cover floorboards to lay vinyl click floor on in a dining room. The floorboards are sound and pretty level. I am thinking 9mm ply will do the job?

Confused by the different types of ply though:

Hardwood
Softwood
Marine
WBP
Birch
Structural
Non-Structural

Advice on which to use would be most welcome!

Bog standard 6mm ply is fine. 9mm is overkill. Put some 3mm foam underneath it and use plenty of screws or ring shank nails.

Thanks for the reply. But which of the options in Wickes etc. is "bog standard" ply?
The cheapest one. Most places only stock ordinary non-structural hardwood ply anyway.
Birch is for 'nice looking' projects. You don't need it.
Structural ply uses glue that is more water resistant. Some people like to call it 'marine ply' but that's just a colloquial name for it. You don't need it.
