Hi,

Does anyone know what type of soil pipe this is (the one with the unusual pattern).

The mottled brown part sticking out from the mud, is standard salt glazed drain. The other part needs washing off and cleaning before it can be guesstimated.

Thanks.

Although it's not clear from the photo the other section is clay.

But thanks again for clearing that up. I'm not a builder but do work in the housing industry and have never seen this type of pipe before.

If you have not encountered salt glazed drainage before, you mut be very new to the industry. At 82, I've seen them all with the worst being pitch fibre . . horrid stuff!

As said, mottled colour pipe is salt glazed, with what looks like an adaptor to Supersleve, (Vitrified Clay).

Technically that is a drain (or sewer), it becomes a Soil pipe once above ground level.
