Lack of evidence isn't evidence of absence. There are multiple theories as to why there is no traces of an epic ramp. One of them is that they didn't build the ramp all the way to the top as they had levers that would be enough for the small % of the top layers. Another is that there's an internal ramp, as seen in other pyramids.

I have seen the internal ramp suggestion. That looks plausible.

Yet again, nobody can say for sure how they were built.
