Unable to access boxed in toilet cistern for repair

Yes indeed. Was about 10 years ago, so probably thinks it’s had a good innings.

Thanks for helpful replies. Cant seem to upload at moment, but can confirm air rather than cable operated push button. Have already tried removing and blowing tube but no joy. Original fitter (unable to do job) recommends removing silicone, then section of worktop, and sink. Doesn’t think any need to break or remove tiles.
Looks like the Dudley Vantage button to me, it could be the bellow has failed in which case you can try a new flush button but they are not cheap at £25.

Can not see from your pic, does worktop run between 2 walls or is left hand end open? When you do get access to it I would suggest complete new internals, fill & flush valve. Also replace braided flexi while you are at it. Fingers crossed that you get another 10 years out of it then.

Ta. Was just going to ask about that option. Does this look like the one you refer to? If so, are they available at DIY stores?

Regards

Runs between two walls.

So the edges are tiled in & top will not slide forwards or upwards presumably without removing some tiles

I'll send a link to the button when home around 9.
Cutting 5mm off the hoses can work

See attached. Edges are tiles but there are two sections of wood, with main one ending just to left of sink. Fitter advised to loosen silicone, remove sink and then wood. Didn’t think necessary to remove tiles?

AXE.

I had this problem. Resorted to extreme violence. But then, I was moving house, so not so worried about the long-term aesthetics, just a reduction in puddles.

Yes. You should be able to slide out the short piece of worktop which wll the give clearance to slide the other piece out from under the tiles on the right hand side. Good luck, looks like one of the jobs that I call in at on the way home thinking 15 minutes should be plenty!

Nice sharp 1mm blade, cut a rectangle 3/4 on the way in to the wall straight along for say 400mm then back out. Black edging strip the cuts and around cut section then hinge it creating a cover as it should have been from the start, you'll have easy access for the future too.
