Unable to shift lock nut for sink trap

Hi

One of the two plastic locking nuts moves easily but the other is just stuck tight. What seems odd about the situation is that most of the thread is exposed so you would think it just needs a turn or two to remove it but it won't budge.

Have tried boiling water but that hasn't helped.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

sounds like its jumped a thread try sum grips or a screw driver on the corner of the nut a gentaly tap it may b enuff to free it up
