Hi I'm having a loft conversion done and need to think about the heating in the bedroom (about 3mx5m). I'm considering undercarpet heating, I know that this is possible (eg from http://floorheatech.co.uk/, or heatmat.co.uk) but I don't know anyone who's done it so I don't know whether it works/is efficient/or is a waste of money etc. Any views please anyone?

The only info on their website about carpet is here.

But......... carpets are always full of dust, dirt and bugs. Bugs love warm temperatures!!!! IMHO I really wouldn't install underfloor heating underneath carpet

Underfloor heating is fine but remeber you will need the correct underlay which is called Roma made by Ball & Young Ltd. It is the only underlay with the correct tog rating for underfloor heating.
