Under sink drain leak

I have had a leak under my kitchen sink, the problem has been traced to the 40mm metal pipe coming into the house at the wall. The plastic compression fitting is not able to make a proper seal around it and it leaks. The pipe opening doesn't appear to be completely round.

I have tried a new fitting with the same results. I've tried PTF tape. Also tried a couple of rounds with a silicon tape but I could not get the compression fitting on this way.

Any suggestion how I could fix without making a hole in the wall?

what sort of metal ?

steel ?

cast iron ?

lead ?

It is lead.

if there is enough pipe cut it back a little and shave the ridge off the pipe
or you could try dressing it back into shape
