Please can you help me I have a small hand basin and have attempted to fit a push trap for easy drainage the trouble is however tight I fit it using PTF tape the trap leaks particularly when the water goes through the overflow. I have thought of silicon but would you remove the washer in the basin under the trap lip or not before bedding in silicon or have you any other ideas please ?

if your trying to say it's leaking from the waste thread when you fill the basin to the overflow.
yes use silicone or buy a basin mate.
which is a coned rubber that fits to the basin waste and gives a better seal.
