Hi,

I've just been pulling up the old floorboards in my ensuite ready to lay an 18mm WBP ply and tile on top. When I was doing this I've found a live mains wire.

Would I be able to run some underfloor heating from this or would it be best to just make it redundant?

I'm not saying I'm going to do this myself - I guess this isn't allowed these days? I wondered if I could do it myself or what the options for an electrician would be?

Here's the photo..... the wire is the white one in the top left of the photo.....

Thanks

you mean that live wire that goes to the double socket that now appears to be partially burried in a new partition wall?

does your en suite now include a shower or bath?

ask your electrician, he will advise the best course of action.

Yeap the previous people, person should I say 'bodge job' artist just left that double socket like that under the tiling! Unblievable!

To be honest I've not got a good honest reliable electrician down here.... anyone know someone in the Eastbourne area?

As this is heating it would be preferable for it to have its own seperate circuit.

What wattage is the under floor heating?

I haven't bought any yet but I don't want anything too powerful.

It's only a very small area so I was thinking about treating us to some of it to make it nice in the winter months.

Any suggestions? Or is it worth not bothering?

I mean looking at the photo above I guess I need to get something done with that live double socket rather than just leave it like the previos guy did!?!
