Hi, been to see a job today, 18 metres calibrated slate, kitchen floor. Now, this is a new one to me. The surface to be tiled comprises 300mm x 1200mm plywood sheets that have been routed to take a underfloor heating pipe. The sheets are 14mm thick and the pipe is 12mm, leaving just 2mm of ply under the pipe! These sheets have been firmly screwed down onto 18mm plywood which in turn has been screwed to original joists. The pipe is exposed, level with surface of wood. I thought Bal Fastflex and have just spoken with BAL who have confirmed that this is suitable, but not with there guarantee. They recommend another layer be put over floor but customer will not accept this. Have any of you guys come across this material? What do you recommend adhesive wise? Any advice/tips? Been trying to get hold of manufacturer (www.uponor.co.uk) but no joy yet. Ta
