I was going to put a rad on a wall but I won't be able to fit one now. I have already got the flow & return ready, and was wondering if I could attach them to some plastic pipe, and lay the pipe under the floorboards. I saw Screwfix do a plastic pipe underfloor heating system, but it's £600+.

If I fit a thermostatic valve, would this work? Are there any other issues I should be aware of?

Thanks for your time.

Best regards

There is a bit more involved as ufh runs a lower temp to rads as it heats up a solid mass usually at least 65mm of screed and so needs its own pump and a mixing valve.

You may get away with a diy job if the area is small, however the trv will be calling for max heat most of the time.
Also hope you have asbestos slippers as the floor may get as hot as a rad.
Have a look at this site for more detailed info.
