Underground drainage is this correct - should I update?

Continuing my ongoing mission to dig up the concrete path around my house I uncovered this.

It looks flimsy to me and am I, right in saying that it's the wrong way round female going into male?

If replace am assuming best to replace all of this back to the clay pipe?

If it is for rainwater and there are no signs of leaking why replace it? That said it should be a reasonably simple job.
