Last summer I just put my pool on some spare weed barrier membrane, over the thin layer of sand I more or less levelled off. This summer I want to do something a little better, without spending too much.
Because the ground is hard, and some paving slabs showing under the pool (I'll add more sand too) I was thinking of some sort of insulating rubber or foam matting. But not sure what sort to get, and worried about it all disintegrating and making a mess...
Is this a good idea?

will obviously be mostly covered, but will get wet and be in sun at times on the edges.
Or some 10mm carpet underlay?
