Trying to work out heights on door frames. If using an engineered wood floor on top of screed and under floor heating, what is the best underlay to use?

Best not to use any. Flooring should be glued direct to screed to ensure most efficient heat-transfer.

Yes. The point here is heat transfer and in so far several layers of wood ply totalling , say 15 mm, will insulate the same as 15 mm of solid wood,

Why do you want underlay ?

And make sure you use flexible adhesive, not just standard (cheaper) parquet adhesive.
