Unidentified conduit

Not without ripping up more floor than I need or would like.

Power all isolated, completely remove those three clamp screws from the T, prise the clamps of the T apart, using a pair of screwdrivers as levers, plus pliers - the T is only thin pressed steel. You should now be able to see what cable types are in the conduit. Almost certainly, they will be old VRI/VIR cables, and if it has been rewired, they are just redundant cables/conduit, and can be safety taken out.

I would be very concerned, if I found any still in use in 2026
I suspect there's more around than you think. Son's house in E17 has just been completely rewired but had singles in conduit like this in many places. 18 months ago he did have the CU replaced and all circuits passed testing at the time....

Exactly the same at my lad's place in E7.
