Unknown pipe full of water in the loft going from the 1st floor washroom

Hi everyone

Just need an advice, we found wet patches on our ceiling and washroom wall this morning. So I thought I should go into the loft to see where's that water came from. When I got there I realised that there was a black pipe on the loft insulation and the wool was completely soaked with water around that black pipe. Further when I moved that pipe it felt heavy as it was full of water. Can someone please advice what is that pipe for? I have 2 washrooms upstairs so in the pics you can see 2 pipe are coming out from the loft floor and these are for the exhaust fans. This black pipe isn't going anywhere or connected!

So can someone please suggest what should I do to prevent that water being collected up there in the pipe and what can be done to prevent its overflow.

Just to add, I did check the actual fixed pipe which is coming from downstairs to which this black flexible pipe is attached was complete empty, no water in there at all.

Could it be an internal soil pipe without an AAV?
Would presumably be smelly though!

It's not possible for rain water to travel that far to that height. If its a soil pipe, can this much water be collected due to condensation? It was nearly 2 litres which I drained out from that black flexible bit... thanks

Looks like Bodgeit and Scarper have been up there. The 'Unknown' Black pipe I suspect is the vent from your soil stack and was connected to the roof vent to allow the stack to vent externally.

Bodgeit and Scarper have come along, installed 2 ceiling fans, and not only connected the ducts together, (so one fan can blow the stale air back into the other room if other fan is switched off.... ), they've also disconnected the soil pipe vent, in order to connect the fan outlets to it instead!

Soil stack needs reconnecting to the roof vent, (do not block it off!), it's probably full of condensation, hence the water. Both ceiling Fans need dedicated ducting running to outside the building. Either through the wall or the roof.

Can I connect the black pipe with the pipes coming from extraction fans? Or will it blow the smelly air to the washrooms instead? Please suggest the solution. Or shall i use the adv valve? Thanks

Only if you want sewer gases in your bathrooms.

The whole lot of what's in there is a mess, including that TV aerial amp just laying on a shelf, the unsupported and uninsulated ventilation ducts hanging everywhere, and those white plastic water pipes with pushfit joints also unsupported just waiting to fail.

As has already been stated:

Both ceiling Fans need dedicated ducting running to outside the building. Either through the wall or the roof.

There is no quick fix here, because it was never correct in the first place.
