We've just moved into a 1930 built property with a rear extension. The recently built rear extension has a slate roof that has sarking felt, but at the front the pitch has the original unlined slates. The roof is in good condition (according to our survey) but the front, unlined section of the loft is dusty with cobwebs etc. Is there a good way of keeping the loft clean without re-slating and fitting felt? Would a thin layer of Poly Foam on the front do the trick? Are there disadvantages to applying foam to the underside of a roof?
Advice appreciated.
