A.N.other apprentice..Hi

i thought milky water was a result of the water being heated too much\quick?

it can be the fluoride seperating if hot & also forced out a small outlet fast.

milky water is 'normal' according the manufacturers.

simply its millions of air bubbles

i did your 'let it stand test' when i got my combi fitted and it eventually goes clear - is this all to do with the way its heated?

Its something to do with turbulence in the water flow. Some combis do it and other don't. We have had occasional complaints from people saying there is something in the water..we do the 40 second test with cloudy water and ..hey presto...it clears.

Its really rather boring. I tried to tell one tenant the council were trying to poison her..she took it seriously until I told her I was only joking  The things i do for a bit of excitement

Aeraters and filters cause the problem.

Remove the thing on the end of the spout and it usually goes.
