Hi if you remember I had a toilet which would flush ok but empty very very slowly. The plumber has just been. He tried all your suggestions (Like mops and hosepipes) but nothing worked. In the end he took the toilet outside and filled it with water and flushed it there - no better. He couldn't see anything in it but it's and old type with a double u-bend built in so it's really difficult to get to.In the end he smashed it and guess what was in it - nothing!!
It's just a really bad design and had probably never worked properly, so we're getting a new toilet!
He also said those freshners that hang inside the bowl are really bad for blocking toilets and blue blocks in the toilet rot everything.
