Upgrading a Bypass

My current installation has a bypass between flow and return, controlled by a stopcock on 15mm pipework coming off reducing Ts [22mm]. Rather then gut and replace the Ts with full 22mm ones, is it feasible/practical/wise to convert the 15mm to 22mm just either side of a new automatic bypass valve?
