Thinking of replacing the existing shower (Triton Jade) with another one that will provide more power.

Had a quote to install a power shower, but it was way more than my budget (£1,500+).

Any suggestions of which shower to go for? I understand that I will have to make sure that the cable can accommodate something more than 7.5kW, so will be getting a sparky to have a look at that.

I live in a soft water area, and there is sufficient pressure (I think).

Thanks.

I think that the most powerful normal domestic electric shower is probably only 10.5 kW.

That would give you an increase of only 33% on your current unit. Is it really worth it?

If you really must have an electric shower then please help me by boycotting Triton who were very unhelpful when one of their shower pumps failed after only one week!

You need to find out what cable size you have have, how long the run is etc, to find out the most poerful shower it would run. Get a QUALIFIED electriciian to do this.

Personally I prefer Mira Sport, and the thermostatic versions keep constant temperature even if someone or something else is also using mains water.

Thanks for that.
Have a friend that is a qualified sparky - will ask him to check it out.

Will err towards the MIRA as opposed to the TRITON, but have to add that mine has not caused me any issues in the 4yrs that I have been in this place.

Thanks.

1500 for a power shower , What was so special about it and how awkward was it to fit . Seems very excesive
