Upgrading single radiators to doubles

I'm just about to start the same project and have microbore pipes.I have had the radiators off before and refitted them without any problems after redecorating.
However i am thinking of doing an upgrade to doubles.How difficult is it ?What do i need to get along with the new radiators (valves etc) and what tips can anyone give.I have heard that there are different types as well (K1 K2 etc ) whats that ?
