tbh I'm not sure how much of this is hype (lock snapping, drilling, bumping etc) to get folk to spend more £££, and I also have to confess there's never been a break-in or attempted break-in at my property (fingers crossed it stays that way) however regardless I've decided to upgrade the lock cylinders in my upvc doors and my mums. part of this decision was after viewing the ease with which these standard locks can be breached!
we had standard yale euro profile cylinders and after much googling I opted to buy these:
http://www.yale.co.uk/en/yale/couk/ProductsDB/?groupId=924&productId=67500
I know they're not the absolute best of the best with keys that can't be copied etc but, in my opinion, they're an improvement on what we had.
I want to go a step further and replace the handles to make these more difficult to breach, again I was surprised to see how easily these can be snapped to give greater access to the cylinder.
these are a bit pricey and I don't think they'd fit due to the snap side length of the cylinders I've already installed:

so I'm thinking about these as they appear to offer slightly better protection than standard handles due to metal backplate, what do you think:
