Hi

For a while now our bath hot water tap has been about half the flow as it was previously. I think this may have started happening after our boiler had a leak and needed repair. I'm not completely sure what work was carried out by the engineer, but I think it may have involved a some sort of large valve.

We have a combi boiler that feeds water direct from the water supply. I've tried increasing the pressure but that's not made any difference.

All other taps are fine, the only other change since the repair is that the shower pipes have begun banging when the shower is at half running at half heat. I'm not sure if that is just a recent thing though.

Nothing in the house has changed in terms of fittings or hardware.

Any tips?

If this has happened since the work was done then get them back in to investigate. This may just be coincidental though.

increasing pressure on the boiler isn't going to make any difference to the hw.

It may be that some debris from the boiler work has travelled up to the bath hot and become lodged at the tap or spout. Take it apart and give everything a flush through. Otherwise it may just be that your bath tap needs a new valve/cartridge!

I have a feeling we've left it too long to justifiably get the original engineer back. I'll give the tap a try. Could it help to do a bleed of the system? Would that possibly help with the pipes banging when the shower is on?
