UPVc Door Hooks keep popping out

On my front door the hooks keep popping out before the handle is pulled up. The door still functions and locks fine but when the handle is in the central position the hooks come out.

Any advice on what this might be caused by and if/how it can be fixed?

Worn locking mechanism OR a fault has developed in the central gearbox like a spring has snapped or become dislodged, pretty much a permanent fault now unless you change the mechanism

OH right thanks for the info. I guess replacing the mechanism isn't cheap?

Might just have to live with it

Depending on make anywhere between £80 to £120 for a new mech, a company i've used for years is DG Supplyline, they have a very good stock of allsorts and have pictures and measurements so you can be 99.9% sure your ordering the correct bit
