uPVC door lock issue

Dear all

Grateful for some help with the following.

The eurocyclinder would not lock with the key spinning round repeatedly and thus when this was replaced to no effect, I have changed both the cylinder and the door gearbox. I've since discovered that the bottom hook mechanic appears to stick in a semi open position meaning that the door does not close properly. I have removed this for now and will try and source a replacement

However, despite this, although the door locks(thumb turn) from the inside, it does not turn fully. From the outside, I am able to unlock the door and remove the key but am not able to lock the door with the key being unable to fully turn into the lock position to the point that I can remove the key.

Is this likely to be an alignment issue? Appreciate any thoughts on how to resolve this.

Many thanks
David

With the door open try and operate and lock the door . If it locks then its an alignment issue

Thanks Ronnie,

Still can't get it to lock with the door open. It looks like the bolt doesn't come out as far as I would normally expect it to do when in the fully locked position. Grateful for help with DIY alignment..

If its not throwing the deadbolt far enough when thw door is open something is jamming it.. you say you put a new gearbox on it? Then I'd be looking at all the other keeps, all it takes is one to jam , or the linking bar to be slightly bent and it won' t be able to throw the deadbolt . Some gearboxes you can disconnect the bar for each extra cam/bolt/hook so you can eliminate each one. May be worth seeing if the gearbox itself is throwing the deadbolt properly by removing it from the main locking bar and trying that on its own. I recently had a brand new Mila one that was faulty so never dismiss a new part.
The door may well be aligned properly, until we know the lock is working correctly we won't know for sure

Generally if a hook is semi open it points to wear in the gearbox but since you've replaced it I would strip the gearbox back off the locking mechanism and make sure the lower half is connected to the gearbox properly because it's unusual to have top and bottom out of sync with each other, disconnect the lower half and push the hook fully in and slide the cam up as well if it has one, make sure it's fully retracted before reconnecting, technically you shouldn't have been able to connect it to the gearbox if it was half poking out hence why I think it may not be connected properly. Strip and check and if you find anything then fix and try the mechanism before refitting it

Many thanks everyone. All sorted now. Now to try and work out how to align the door. Will try searching for some videos on how to adjust this. Any suggestions on guidance videos?

grateful for any help

Prise off the white cap on the end and you should see an Allen key hole. Will be one on all three hinges, they will.adjust the door laterally. Under the hinge on the frame is another Allen key which will adjust the height. Mark where the door is sitting with a pencil.in a few places before you start ( so you have a datum point if all goes wrong ) and only adjust by a quarter turn at a time
