UPVC door not locking correctly

Hi

I have a uPVC door to my garage, and up until yesterday it was locking with no issues.

Now, when I go to lock it, the door locks but if you push down on the handle it unlocks and the door opens!

If I keep the door open, lift the handle and turn the key the lock works and stays locked even if you push the handle down. So I'm stumped as to why, when I close the door lift the handle and lock the door it locks but then unlocks when pushing down on the handle!

Any ideas on this? Apologies if this isn't in the right part of the forum too.

In the absence of anything else I’d try wd40 all over the lever bolts/visible metal parts, then look at hinge adjustments. But yeah you might want to ask for this to be moved to the windows/doors forum
