Is it true you now have to have a certificate to fit UPVC windows and doors?

I heard that you have to do a day course alternatively call out the building inspector to inspect afterwards!! is it true?

Thanks Rich

Probably about £70 or something, every local authority varies slightly, if you look up your llocal authority and find building control, under environment probably, they'll probably be some blurb on there, otherwise ring them and unlike every other department in local authority they'll actually probably be very helpful.

Note to self, must resist using the word probably so much in the future!

Probably.

Well obviously the windows were fitted before 2002

It's a bit hard to tell and not worth an argument. If they are fitted properly, then it's never an issue
