uPVC Front Dorr Letterbox size

hi all....
I purchased a replacement letterbox from Homebase, but when i came to fit it, the depth of the inner sleeves were longer than the one i removed.
I think the new one was 40mm minimum, where the old one was about 30mm.
The old one looks like it has been cut down to make it fit, but for me to do this to the new one, i'd have to also cut down the two screw barrels that fit through the door to hold the letterbox in place.
This seems to be far too much trouble.
IS there anywhere i can purchase a gold style letterbox with a depth of 30mm?
Simple jobs are never simple.............

I had to do exactly that when replacing a letterbox for my parents and from all the searching I did, there didn't seem to be any alternative.

Try your local upvc window company they should stock the right depth.

cut it down with a hacksaw and cut off the silver barrels, then screw in each corner on one side and the middles on the other, all holes should be there already
