Would anyone be aware of any other brands of uPVC sliding sash windows which have continuous run through horns, other than the two below? Thanks.

The Rose Collection

and
R9 sash windows

That is, in order to avoid an obvious joint where horn meets rail such as below.

We use quickslide , and VS express in the past but i believe most upvc sliding sash offer run thro horns. Victoriana sliders is another that should do run thro

I had a look at the Victorian Sliders website. The upper sash does have horns on the lower rail and so are visible externally; however, the lower sash does not appear to have horns on the upper rail and so there are no horns when the window is viewed internally.

If they're wanting to keep things in-line with originals it seems an oversight.

Gonna be honest , don't think I've ever come across sliding sash with horns on the top rail of the lower sash.... and I've been in the industry 25 years... not saying they don't exist ,just never seen it

I just had a look at the Quickslide, VS express, R9 and Rose Collection websites and yes they don't appear to have horns on the top rail of the lower sash either.

Disappointing if wanting sashes to look as original as possible.

Never seen it on old wooden sliding sash windows before either... I suspect it's more unusual than you think

Not all original Victorian box sash windows had to upper horn, some did some didn't

Think it may have depended on the particular manufacturer in that area at the time, nowadays if joinery shops like Jeld-wen are firing windows out at a huge job they'll all be made the same size and design, could you say that for original victorian joinery shops I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me if every window was a different size
