UPVC trim on Aluminium Windows? Acceptable or Rejectable?

My brother has just had several high-end aluminium units fitted, including a bi-fold door.
The new back door has a 10mm + gap each side that's filled with expanding foam and silicone. This has been crudely covered with large UPVC quadrant, which I don't feel is acceptable.
As always, I'd be very grateful for your feedback!

Nb. He also has a number of legitimate concerns regarding the installation, including pooling on the cills, gaps underneath cills, units slightly twisted etc. Not good. :-/
