Urgent help need with leaking boiler

This old Vulcan boiler is on it's way out I know as not only has the pump stuck but the copper pipe coming out of the pump to the right is dripping water on the bend. What do I do to drain the boiler so its dry while I seal the joint ? Please see pic below

rip it out! if ya are gonna repair the leak tho id bung it and replace the pump & valves

We have now decided that it needs a new boiler sooner than later (we were hoping for it to get us through winter)

The boiler is in the kitchen and all the radiators in the house are the thicker old pipe type. We have an emersion heater in the bathroom upstairs. We are both working full time and not on benefits and need to know the best and cost cutting way we can get a new boiler installed. Is there a grant we can get to help with costs etc?

As for bunging it, I need to know what to drain the water in the boiler as I have some putty that sets like metal for plumbing jobs.
