Urgent how to cllean chipboard

We are replacing carpet in lounge, the flooring is chipboard we are concerned about cleaning as it seems to be swollen already in places due to it getting wet but it's also stained please advise and quickly as we are having new carpet fitted Monday

unfortunately swollen means damaged weakened the more the swelling the greater the the loss of strength

i'm no expert but this is first time i've heard of chipboard under carpets.

thinking about it i don't think it's a good idea having the chipboard for many aspects; especially fire.

what's under the chipboard?

it may be worth speaking to the carpetfitters if you can still get hold of them before Monday.

99% of new build use chipboard and have done for the last 20 years.
It is crap tho and really should be banned. Nothing but problems. As for cleaning it all you can do really is vac it. You should not put any moister onto it so mopping etc is a no no!

Too late husband mopped floor and we can't replace it so we are stuck with it I'm afraid, it would cost a fortune to replace and not time before Monday anyhow to do anything. thanks for advice Regards Jane
