Hi,

I am really struggling to get our Graco airless 3kvs paint sprayer working http://magnum.graco.com/products/x7/ .

So far I have a yellow transformer from Screwfix
http://www.screwfix.com/p/portable-transformer-with-2-output-sockets-3kva/84144
which should work with 3Kva tools. To plug the american graco plug into the transformer I have the following cable...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-110v-S...267400?hash=item51dbb29f08:g:EZUAAOSwvt1WRiaJ

However, when I turn the sprayer on nothing happens and you hear a click (most likely a safety lock). I am not sure what is wrong and if it is something to do with Amps? I am plugging the transformer into the houses main socket. Does anyone know what items are needed to get these US power tools working? Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

3kVA should be ok, but the device requires 120V, 60Hz, the transformer output is 110v 50Hz, motors in particular are not likely to work well on the wrong frequency.

The transformer output is also centre tap to earth, with 55V between earth and the other two wires. Not known if the device has any method to detect a proper ground connection but if it does, it will not work with that configuration.
