using diamond core bits on slate

I'm thinking of getting a couple of diamond bits for my bathroom project. I only need to cut holes for the plumbing of the basin (copper pipe and waste) and the toilet (1 hole for a flexible hose to connect to toilet and copper pipe in the floor below).

Can someone tell me which sizes I will need? (eg - do I get 15mm for 15mm pipe or larger?) and what size for the basin waste?

I am thinking of getting cheap bits of ebay as I am happy to throw away after this job if they are knackered. Do I need anything else? I have a wide variety of drills including sds.

I am drilling through slate.

Slate is soft as shi.te so you don't need dimond drills.

Shall we say a snug or slightly more than snug fit. How is it you always manage to get the pipe sort of half in half out before it jams and is completely immovable.
