UV starter unit cable extention.

Hi, Forgive the basic-ness of my question but electrics is not my strong point!!

I have a UV starter unit used in a reptile vivarium and I need to cut the wire between the starter unit and the bulb socket in order to instal it in my new vivarium. I will be using wire connectors to put it back together again but I am unsure what amperage connector to use. its all very confusing to me. The plug on the unit has a 3A fuse in it.

Does it say what the output voltage and current/power are?

Will the cable be the same length after the cut'n'shut?

What do you mean by "wire connectors"?
