Hi
i am new to this & find it very useful. here i problem, we have insurance with vaillant which we asked them to do an annual services but they inform us to the following:

1. domestic heater exchange is blocked
2. system flushed + domestic heat exchange clearned.
3. to fit dual action masng clean.
4. no visual earth crossed bonding on boiler pipwork.
5. incorrect gas working, pressure on boiler

what is best possible solution to this as list by the boiler engineer, can i do some of them or need to call plumber in. the boiler is working fine as part from hot water for the shower.

the items that need attention can not be done by you as some require specalist tools and a degree of competance you need a professional GAS SAFE REGISTERED heating engineer who is trained to service/repair and set up the boiler correctley

tj, what specialist tools? I have seen some DIYers who can do better job than some so called proffessionals. What training are you talking about?

What the OP has is a boiler fitted but essentials ignored.

first thing to get sorted is the gas pipe supplying the boiler.once thats done you can then see what the performance is.

One point to add is if you have 17th edition wiring with dual RCD

You do not need to crossbond boiler pipe work under the new 17th edition wiring regs the only crossbonding done under the 17th is main water supply and main gas supply.

What KW size is the boiler? normally the pipe size should be 22mm from the metre and the last 1 metre of supply to the boiler can be done in 15mm
the pipe size will need to be bigger for more powerful boilers.
A gas safe engineer will tell you what size pipe you will need.

Vaillant combi boiler losing pressure with a day from the pressure relief valve - or ( overflow pipe outside ) What i need to do to fix the problem please,

If he serviced it why didn't he reset the gas presure? He must have put a test gauge on it to know that it is wrong!

If you dont know how to size pipework I dont think you should be saying something like that!

Some DIYers without a clue will think thats what you can do and copy it !

You should delete it and leave the advice to be to get a registered engineer to advise!
