I've had our Vaillant Ecotec 28 since 2013 (still checking on guarantee) and it's recently developed a problem that was a minor irritant that has got a whole heap worse.

The noise is a whirring buzz that used to be a very short 1-second event that tended to occur early in the morning. This morning it has been droning on for much longer enableing me to take the videos above.

It only seems to happen when the exhaust fan is NOT on. There are youtube links to noisy Vaillants, but I can't find this noise anywhere else.

Not sure what you mean by the exhaust fan isn’t on? The 2nd video shows the heating on and pressure far too high. Also I’m not keen on the flexi hose to the cold inlet. As for the noise sounds like it’s on a valve internal to the boiler - you need a gas safe registered engineer.

I will vent the system and get that pressure down a little - that may be contributing to the noise.
