Vaillant eco tec 615 system boiler

most of the services have been done by the installers. They couldn't fit me in one year when I wanted so I had a vaillant installer off the web site do it and they didn't change burner seal, its due this April I will tell next service ebg to replace it. What do Vaillant charge for a service ?

How old was the boiler when the web engineer came?

As stated its only recommended to change it every 3-5 years.

I have to say that although I don't get called to service that many Vaillants probably over 50% that I see at about 6-7 years have never had the seal replaced which means never properly serviced ( if at all ).

I would disagree. I service much of our Vaillant installed base and expansion vessels (Zilmet) not uncommonly start to lose air charge after 3 years.

From experience I've found that once this happens, you can pump them up but next year they're down again - or worse, full of water.

Everyone knows about the hoses; the earlier Wilo pumps were a cost saving measure Vaillant customers were not expecting, and then you have the expansion vessels. Oh, and the positioning of the water sensor.

I'm pleased to say that new ecoTECs have had all these issues resolved, even the expansion vessels are a slightly different shape and no longer bear Zilmet branding.

But the damage is done, I fit those Worcester boilers Dan dislikes so much and the reliability has been quantifiably better than Vaillant.
