Vaillant Ecomax 824/2E Diverter Valve

I am quite technically minded and previous employments have always been in electronic/engineering/assembly sector.

What I also need to know is do;-
1. I drain the system in the same way as repressurizing the boiler through the flow and return pipes before removing/fitting new DV?

2. Will there be any problems to look out for after the fitting of the new DV?
