Hi,
I have a vaillant ecomax 824 combi boiler that is 7 years old. It has been serviced on an annuak basis but since last week the pressure relief valve has been leaking quite fast.

Is it as simple as replacing the pressure relief valve or is it more to it ?

What is the boiler pressure reading whilst the valve is dripping?

Mazkhan reread gas4you's question again......what he is asking is why is it leaking ie if your pressure is 3+bar it should be leaking!.....and the cause is a different problem....if not then it is the prv that is at fault....

Hi,
The pressure relief valve is at 2 bar when the water is leaking. So is it more likely to be the PRV rather than anything in the boiler causing the problem i.e. expansion vessel ?

Correct....unless it pushes past 3 bar when in heating mode. Might just need striping and the seat cleaning. If not change it
